Cannabis delivery in Massachusetts is one of the most tightly regulated retail activities in the Commonwealth, and it bears very little resemblance to ordering dinner. Since we intend to build a serious delivery operation out of Sharon, it is worth setting expectations now.
Two agents, always
State regulation requires delivery vehicles to be staffed by two licensed agents. Both are trained, both are badged, and both have passed the background screening the Commission requires. This is not a cost-saving industry norm we can opt out of, and any operator running single-agent deliveries is not doing so legally.
The vehicle is deliberately unremarkable
No branding, no logo, no indication of what is inside. Delivery vehicles carry GPS tracking, secured product storage that stays locked in transit, and recording equipment that runs for the duration of every handoff. Product is not left in a vehicle overnight under any circumstances.
If you were hoping for a van with our name on the side, we understand the disappointment. The plain vehicle is the point.
What happens at your door
The agent asks for the same valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID you would present in the store, checks it against the name on the order, and confirms you are 21 or over. The handoff is recorded. Payment happens at the door under the rules in force at the time.
Three things will end a delivery on the spot: the ID does not match the order, the ID is expired, or the person receiving appears intoxicated. Agents are trained to refuse in all three cases and to do it without argument. The order returns to the store.
It has to be a residence, in a town that allows it
Deliveries go to a residential address. Not a workplace lobby, not a hotel, not a college dormitory, not a parking lot, not a public park. Massachusetts also permits each municipality to decide whether to allow delivery within its borders, which is why coverage maps in this state look patchy and why we cannot promise a town until both our license and that town's position are settled.
Our planned footprint is Sharon and the communities within a sensible drive of it, including Foxborough, Walpole, Canton, Stoughton, Norwood and Mansfield. We will publish the confirmed list before the first run rather than guess at it now.
Nothing crosses a state line
Cannabis cannot legally be mailed, shipped by a carrier, or carried across a border, including into Rhode Island or Connecticut where adult use is also legal. Every legal cannabis transaction in Massachusetts begins and ends inside Massachusetts. Any website offering to ship cannabis to your door from out of state is describing a federal crime.
Windows, not minutes
We plan to schedule in two-hour windows rather than promise a countdown. A compliant delivery run has ID checks, recorded handoffs and a fixed manifest, and pretending that fits into a fifteen-minute estimate would only set everyone up to be annoyed. A window we can hold is more useful than a number we cannot.
Where we are today
Our delivery license application is pending with the Cannabis Control Commission alongside our retail application. Until it is issued we are not delivering anything.
