Adults 21+ onlyLicenses pending with the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission

About us

A dispensary built the way we would want one built.

Pinnacle Cannabis is a licensed-pending adult-use retailer preparing to open at 24 South Main Street in Sharon, Massachusetts, with a delivery service covering the towns around it. This page is the long version: how the building works, what we intend to sell, what we owe the town, and precisely where our paperwork stands.

01Overview

Small, local and deliberately unremarkable.

We are a single-site operator, not a chain, and we intend to stay that way for as long as it takes to run one store properly. The plan is one retail floor in Sharon and a delivery operation serving Foxborough, Walpole, Canton, Stoughton, Norwood and Mansfield, subject to each town permitting delivery and to our licenses being issued.

Adult-use cannabis has been legal in Massachusetts since 2016, and the market has settled into two shapes: clinical rooms that feel like a pharmacy, and loud rooms that feel like a nightclub. Neither is what most of our neighbors are asking for. What they want is a well-lit shop with staff who explain things, product that has not been sitting in a warehouse for a year, and a business that does not create a problem on the street outside.

So our buying is built around harvest dates and laboratory results rather than brand deals. Our staff training leads with onset and dose rather than potency, and nobody on the floor is compensated on what they sell you. Our security posture is designed to be invisible to customers and reassuring to the people who live nearby.

We are publishing all of this before we open, including the parts that are unresolved, because the alternative is a “coming soon” page that tells nobody anything.

02Licensing status

Under review. Not approved, and we will not say otherwise.

Every license below is an application in progress with the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission or the Town of Sharon. None of them has been granted. Until they are, Pinnacle Cannabis sells nothing, delivers nothing and transfers no cannabis to anyone. This table changes when the status changes, and not before.

Filed with application

Pinnacle Cannabis is a licensed-pending retailer. Applications for adult-use retail and delivery are under review by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission and the Town of Sharon. No cannabis is sold, delivered or transferred until those licenses are issued. License status can be verified independently through the Cannabis Control Commission.

03Facility and security

Three zones, and a deliberate limit on what we publish.

The building separates public, limited and restricted areas, with access control at every threshold and continuous recorded video retained to state standards. What follows is the high-level shape of it. Camera positions, alarm configuration, vault specification and staffing patterns are not published anywhere, for obvious reasons.

  • Public zone

Entry vestibule, identification check and the retail floor. Every visitor is verified as 21 or over before they reach the floor, and no cannabis is stored or displayed outside a controlled case.

  • Limited zone

Staff corridors, the point-of-sale back office and the delivery staging area. Badged staff only, logged at every threshold, with camera coverage across the whole path from storage to counter.

  • Restricted zone

Vault, inventory intake and the safe. Dual-authorization access, alarmed and monitored continuously, with reconciliation at open and close. Nothing sits on the floor overnight.

Delivery operations

Two licensed, background-screened agents per vehicle, as state regulation requires. Unmarked vehicles, GPS tracked, with product secured in transit and recorded handoffs. Deliveries go to residential addresses only, in municipalities that permit them, and an agent refuses on the spot if the ID does not match, has expired, or the recipient appears intoxicated.

04What we will carry

Six categories, sourced from Massachusetts producers.

Every product sold in this state is tested by an independent laboratory for potency, pesticides, heavy metals and microbials before it reaches a shelf. We read those results before we buy, and we shelve by harvest date as much as by name.

See the menu
  • Flower

Whole buds by the eighth, quarter and half ounce, sold by harvest date as much as by name.

  • Pre-Rolls

Singles, tins and infused cones. The same flower with the labor taken out of it.

  • Edibles

Low-dose gummies, chocolate, lozenges and honey, portioned so a small dose is easy.

  • Concentrates

Solventless rosin, badder and sugar wax for customers who already know their tolerance.

  • Vaporizers

Standard 510 cartridges and all-in-one pens, discreet and free of combustion.

  • Accessories

Storage, glass, grinders and batteries. The parts that quietly make everything else better.

05Positive Impact Plan

What we owe the town, in plain words.

Massachusetts requires every licensee to file a plan describing how the business will benefit communities disproportionately harmed by cannabis prohibition. Ours is filed with our application. This is the readable version, published early on purpose, while it is still awkward to be measured against it.

Read the full plan

Hire locally, and do not screen people out for the past

Most of our staff will come from the towns around the store, with deliberate priority for applicants from communities the Commission has designated as disproportionately impacted, and for applicants carrying cannabis records that are now expungeable. We do not require degrees the work does not need.

Run free expungement clinics

Many Massachusetts cannabis convictions can be sealed or expunged, and the barrier is almost always confusion rather than cost. We will host free clinics with legal aid partners on a regular cadence, open to anyone, with nothing sold at the event.

Publish the money, not a slogan

A fixed percentage of annual net profit goes to organizations working in designated communities, with recipients and amounts published each year. We are not inventing a headline number before we have opened, because a figure from a business with no revenue is advertising rather than a commitment.

Be a good neighbor on the boring things

Carbon filtration specified for a retail floor rather than the cheapest unit that passes. Staff parking kept off surrounding streets. Queues managed indoors. No consumption on or near the property, enforced by staff rather than by signage.

We will report against this plan publicly each year: hiring by category, clinics held, contributions made and to whom. Where a commitment has not been met, the report will say so rather than quietly drop the line.

06How we intend to market

Advertising cannabis in Massachusetts is tightly limited. Good.

State rules restrict where cannabis can be advertised, require audience thresholds for paid placement, prohibit health claims, and forbid anything designed to appeal to people under 21. Rather than treating that as a constraint to work around, we have built the whole approach inside it.

  • Education first, because it is also the honest pitch

The Journal, in-store guidance and our staff training all lead with format, onset and dose rather than potency. We would rather sell someone the right 2.5 mg lozenge twice than the wrong 100 mg bar once.

  • Within the state rules, by design rather than by audit

Massachusetts restricts where and how cannabis can be advertised, requires audience-composition thresholds for paid placement, and prohibits anything appealing to people under 21. We build to those limits first rather than testing them and pulling campaigns later.

  • Local channels over broad reach

Age-gated email, our own site, local search, and partnerships with nearby businesses and community organizations. No health claims, no imagery aimed at anyone under 21, and no placement near a school.

  • Loyalty that rewards regulars, not volume

Any program we run will be built around consistency and education rather than encouraging people to buy more than they intended. Discounting that pushes quantity is not a strategy we are interested in.

Questions about any of this?

If you live in Sharon and think something on this page is wrong, missing or not good enough, we would genuinely rather hear it now than after we open.
